The Canterbaby Club: Mini Makers’ Spa Morning

Get hands-on with our Canterbaby Club Spa Day, where little ones can mix, create, and make their spa goodies. While the kids craft, grown-ups can enjoy a moment of calm with a complimentary hand massage.

We know how much little ones love getting messy, and how nice it is when someone else sets it all up and handles the cleanup. So for our August Canterbaby Club catch-up, we’re doing just that.

We’ve teamed up with Messy Mates and The Boutique Teepee Co. to run a Spa Day. While it might sound a little bit fancy (and it will be, in its own way), it’s really just a fun morning where kids can mix, create, and get messy with purpose – with a few spa-style extras thrown in. There’s also something in it for the grown-ups.

The Canterbaby Club: Mini Makers’ Spa Morning

TLDR:

Where: Messy Mates, Shop T38, The Hub, Christchurch
When: Saturday, 30 August, 9:30 AM – 11 AM & 12:30 PM – 2 PM
How much: $35 per child (includes one adult)

What to expect: We’ve teamed up with Messy Mates and The Boutique Teepee Co. to bring you a hands-on kids spa day designed for little ones who love to get creative and messy. Kids will make their face masks and lip scrubs using natural ingredients, decorate sleep masks, craft keyrings, and put together sparkly cat mirrors – all while having a blast. Meanwhile, grown-ups can enjoy a complimentary hand massage from Simply Beauty in a calm, stylish space set up by The Boutique Teepee Co., accompanied by pink drinks for the kids, plenty of mess, and all materials provided. This session is great for kids aged 3 to 7 (but all ages welcome, as you know your child best). Tickets are $35 per child and include everything for a relaxed, fun morning.

What’s included?

We’re still finalising a few details behind the scenes, but here’s what your ticket will definitely include…

Your $35 ticket (for you + one child) covers:

  • Crafts
  • Facemask and lip scrub ingredients
  • Spa pack to take home
  • Playpen space for babies/siblings
  • Pod coffee and tea for parents
  • Pink drink for little ones
  • Glam set up by The Boutique Teepee Co.
  • Hand massages by Simply Beauty

Choose a session on Saturday, 30 August 2025

Morning: 9.30 to 11.00am
Afternoon: 12.30 to 2pm
Cost: $35 per child

Kids will make their own face mask and lip scrub using natural ingredients, decorate a sleep mask, design a keyring, and put together one of those sparkly cat mirrors. Everything they make goes home in a little spa kit so they can keep the fun going later, without you needing to find all the bits and pieces.

There’ll be pink drinks, a glam setup from The Boutique Teepee Co, and while the kids are crafting, Simply Beauty will be offering complimentary hand massages for the grown-ups. It’s not a full break, but it’s a small moment to sit down while someone else takes the lead.

This session is best suited for kids aged 3 to 7, but you know your child best and we’re happy for those younger or older to attend if you think they’ll enjoy it. You’ll stay on site, but we’ll guide the session so you can step back, chat to other parents, and enjoy the space too.

We’ve capped numbers at 10 children per session to keep things comfortable, so book early if you’d like to come along! Bringing a younger sibling? No stress. There’s a playpen set up so they can nap or play while you enjoy yourself.

Allergy disclaimer: Some of the ingredients we’ll be using include oats, honey, banana, yoghurt, coconut oil, caster sugar, and others (to be confirmed). If your child has any food allergies or sensitivities and you’re unsure if this session is suitable, please message us before booking. Your child’s safety is our priority.

Tickets can be bought here.
