We’re on the ultimate fluffy hunt, and Kate, the Instagram blogger behind @christchurchwithkids has found the best fluffies in Christchurch.
If there’s one thing I’ve mastered in life (besides the art of dodging Duplo on the floor), it’s the ritual of a fluffy and coffee date with my little one. If you missed the memo, these frothy little delights (known to our Aussie friends as babyccinos) are a mini cup of milk foam topped with chocolate that buys you at least 10 minutes of peace and quiet, while your little one feels like a grown-up. What’s not to love? Caffeine for you, sugar for them, a bit of bonding, and a lovely café outing.
Lucky for us, Christchurch cafés have stepped up their fluffy game recently, so here’s my roundup of the most extra, creative and adorable fluffies in town. Prepare for cute overload, and maybe a little envy –– your kid’s drink will likely outshine your flat white. These are the best fluffies in Christchurch.

The best fluffies in Christchurch:
Untouched World Kitchen
These are the most gorgeous fluffies I’ve seen. Pastel sprinkles, adorable animal faces and their signature bird logo artfully dusted on the top of a cappuccino. Did I mention the dreamy outdoor seating with ferns and a little stream trickling by? It’s so peaceful you might forget you have kids for a moment. Until your toddler knocks their cup over, obviously.
Bakermans of Fendalton
This place wins on treat factor, serving up animal faces with a bonus mini cookie on the side – and yes, you get a cookie with your coffee too, because you deserve it. It’s the perfect spot for a snack before the weekly grocery run (it’s conveniently next to New World), and their cabinet food selection is like a dream, full of mini pies, quiches and endless types of cookies and cakes.
Antigua Boatshed Café
A classic Christchurch spot that’s giving nostalgia, with the sweetest little marshmallow animal faces on each fluffy. A great alternative to Ilex if you’re exploring the Botanic Gardens, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can go for a kayak ride with your kids via the actual boat sheds next door. They even provide mini life jackets for the tiny tots!
She Chocolaterie Lounge, Malthouse Cottage
This little cottage is the hidden chocolate heaven of Christchurch. These fluffies come with real grated chocolate on top and a cute little chocolate shape, plus the cup is edged in melted chocolate. Warning: you’ll need to give your kid’s face a thorough wipe-down afterwards. This cottage café is a charming little spot to sit, and let’s be honest, you’ll probably leave with a bag of their chocolate treats too.
‘Lil Brew Café
This place knows how to spoil the little ones! Their fluffies come with colourful sprinkles and stickers – because what kid doesn’t love a sticker? It’s one of my favourite spots, not just for the fluffies, but also for their unreal New York style cookies, scones and crookies (yes, that’s a cookie baked into a croissant, and you’ll probably want to share one as they’re so decedent). Plus, there’s a toy corner and outdoor play area to keep them entertained while you enjoy your coffee in peace.
Willowbank Wildlife Reserve
Willowbank recently levelled up their fluffy game, creating a detailed little foam cat face! Your little one will be mesmerised, and you’ll be wondering how anyone has the patience to make a drink look that cute. Grab a cheese twist while you’re there (they’re delicious), and if you’re lucky enough to sit outside, you might even have a few curious deer come right up to the fence next to you for a proper “aww” moment.
Copenhagen Bakery
This little pig fluffy was a major win with my Peppa-obsessed child. I love the old-school bakery vibes here, and there’s something super comforting about the endless rows of pastries, pies, quiches, breads, cookies and cakes. Make sure you arrive hungry! It’s the perfect spot for a fluffy date, and you’ll likely leave with a bag of goodies for later (if they last that long).
