Peppa Pig Is Coming to Christchurch — Brace for Squeals

Peppa Pig is heading back to New Zealand for her first live tour since 2018, and she’s making a proper stop in Christchurch this July. Expect songs, dancing, and plenty of preschooler-friendly chaos — it’s the live show little fans won’t want to miss.

If you’ve got a small child in your life, Peppa Pig probably needs no introduction. She’s already on your TV, your bookshelf, your couch blankets, and maybe even your shopping list (Peppa-shaped pasta, anyone?). So it only makes sense that she’s now heading straight for the stage — and yes, Christchurch is on the tour.

Peppa Pig’s Fun Day Out LIVE! lands at the Isaac Theatre Royal on Tuesday 8 July — a one-day-only show that promises big excitement in small-person-friendly doses. The show is lively, colourful, packed with songs, and built specifically for the under-five set. Think of it as a crash course in live theatre — minus the shushing and fancy outfits — with just the right amount of squealing, singing, and bouncing in seats.

The story follows Peppa and pals on a very full day: they visit the zoo, build sandcastles at the beach, throw a party, and squeeze in a few animal encounters for good measure. There’s puppetry, music, and loads of interactive moments, so your child can clap along, wave to the stage, and yell “again!” while you silently bless the genius who designed a preschool show with actual pacing.

It’s short enough to hold a toddler’s attention, but still feels like a “big outing”. And let’s be honest — if you’re going to spend money on entertainment that involves small people in gumboots, this is a pretty great bet. It’s Peppa, but it’s theatre. With lighting. And seating. And other grown-ups who also packed six snacks and a spare set of clothes. You’ll feel seen.

Also, not to alarm you, but tickets will sell out. The last time Peppa toured New Zealand was 2018, and she hasn’t exactly gone out of fashion since. So if you’re planning to go (or even just thinking about it), now’s a good time to lock it in.

Also, a fun fact that’ll make you feel slightly ancient: Peppa is turning 20 this year. That’s right. Two decades of cheeky snorts and muddy puddles. Whether you’re in the thick of Peppa fandom or just along for the ride, this show is set to be more interactive than ever, which means your child may actually sit still – and scream-sing – for a full 60 minutes. We call that a win.
