Nestled in Oxford, South Eyre Sunflowers is more than just a field of blooms; it’s a feel-good outing. This not-for-profit sunflower haven donates all proceeds to I AM HOPE and local community initiatives, making your visit as meaningful as it is memorable.

The sunflowers are open for about 3–4 weeks from late January to early February (keep an eye on their Facebook page for official opening dates). Entry is $10 per adult, while under-16s visit for free. Cut flowers are just $2.50 each, and an honesty box at the gate makes payments easy. You’ll find secateurs available to borrow, but feel free to bring your own.

Pets are welcome (on a lead), and you can even arrange a photoshoot with your horse! Though there are no on-site facilities, the charming town of Oxford is just a short drive away, offering cafes, public toilets, and shops to round out your visit.

Head to Rossendale Wines on Old Tai Tapu Road for a sunflower experience that helps yearly to fundraise for Ladbrooks School. The sprawling Christchurch Sunflower Fields are open daily from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, offering entry at just $5 per person (kids under 5 are free).

On weekends, the sunflower experience steps up a notch with coffee, ice creams, and food trucks to keep everyone happy. Don’t forget to bring a picnic blanket—there’s a designated area in the heart of the field for you to relax, snack and soak in the scenery.

For picking your own blooms, stems are $3 each, and secateurs are provided. Whether it’s for the flowers or the food, this spot has everything you need for a sunny family day out.

The café serves freshly baked treats and Havana coffee, making it an ideal spot to relax after your stroll. Entry to the fields is $5 per person, and kids under 5 enter for free. Bring your own secateurs if possible, as the farm charges a $9 bond to borrow theirs.

Dogs are welcome (on a lead), and while the fields are stunning, the café alone is worth a visit for its picturesque views of the sunflowers.
