Music with Michal Seaweek 2025 Lyttelton Kids Cruise

Music with Michal | Seaweek 2025 Lyttelton Kids Cruise

Set sail with award-winning kids’ musician Michal for a magical cruise across Lyttelton Harbour. This Seaweek special includes a one-hour boat ride, plus a 30-minute music session full of songs, dancing, and ocean-themed fun. These cruises always sell out, so book ahead if you want to be part of the adventure.

When: Friday 7 March, 9:30am – 10:30am or 11:00am – 12:00pm
Where: B Jetty, Lyttelton

Swannanoa Country Fair

Swannanoa Country Fair

From a humble boot sale in 1998 to one of the region’s biggest school fairs, the Swannanoa Country Fair is packed with stalls, rides, food, and entertainment. There’s a white elephant sale for treasure hunters, a school plant stall for green thumbs, and plenty of games to keep the kids happy. All profits go straight back into Te Koromiko Swannanoa School, so you can feel good about spending up.

When: Sunday 9 March, 10am – 3pm

How much: $5 donation for adults, kids under 15 free

Bed by 10

Parents, this one’s for you. If you’re over 30 and miss the days of clubbing but not the regret-filled mornings, Bed by 10 is the perfect night out. Expect confetti showers, CO2 cannons, and all the club classics from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and early 2000s—without the 3am finish. The best part? You’ll be home and in bed at a reasonable hour.

Isleworth School Fair

Isleworth School’s first-ever fair is set to be a blast! Expect classic games, market stalls, live entertainment, and more tasty treats than you can count. Kids can bounce, get their faces painted, or try sports activities. Feeling competitive? Enter the bake sale or art exhibition. And don’t miss the talent show!

Culture Galore 2025

A celebration of Christchurch’s diversity, Culture Galore brings together music, dance, arts, crafts, and food from over 30 cultures. Watch performances ranging from West African drumming to traditional Korean dance, try your hand at flax weaving or archery, and let the kids loose on the bouncy castles. And with over 40 food stalls serving up authentic cuisine, you’ll want to come hungry.

Monthly Dutch Market

If you’ve got a soft spot for stroopwafels, a craving for poffertjes, or just want to see what the Dutch do best, the Monthly Dutch Market is worth a visit. You’ll find fresh and imported Dutch food, free books, language practice, and even traditional games. Stick around afterwards for a koha-based Dutch lesson.

Got a little eco-warrior in the making? Christchurch Envirokids is a hands-on programme for children who love nature and want to learn more about protecting the environment. This week’s session focuses on our oceans, with interactive activities and a virtual reality experience that lets kids see the effects of pollution and overfishing up close.
