Japan Fiesta 2026
For one day, Riccarton Park becomes a lively hub celebrating Japanese culture, food and entertainment. Japan Fiesta is packed with things to explore, from cultural exhibitions and tea ceremonies to live performances and artist stalls. Families can wander through food vendors, catch giant-screen anime outdoors (yes, One Piece fans will be happy), and explore the indoor Hokkaido Fair which showcases Japan’s northern region. It is the kind of event where you might arrive for lunch and end up staying most of the afternoon.

UV Sports
If your kids enjoy a bit of action, UV Sports in Rolleston adds a glow-in-the-dark twist to classic games. Under ultraviolet lighting, participants jump into fast-paced rounds of dodgeball, pickleball and floorball, with plenty of mini games thrown in.
