Ferrymead Night Market
A night out with the kids that’s fun and educational? We’ll take it. Ferrymead Night Market is the perfect mix of history and hustle, with vintage trams and trains alongside live music, food trucks, craft stalls and a good old-fashioned community vibe. Bring cash for those hard-to-resist goodies, keep the dog on a lead, and don’t forget—entry helps support the volunteers who keep this heritage gem running. It’s a win all round.

Christchurch Baby Expo
It’s like Disneyland for expectant and new parents—but with fewer roller coasters and more prams. The Christchurch Baby Expo is back, bringing all the baby brands, gadgets, seminars, giveaways and exclusive deals under one roof. Plus, nook NZ will be there! Pop by, enter our giveaway, and grab a sensory kit for your little one. There’s a pram trial track, kids’ activities, workshops… basically, it’s baby paradise with a side of retail therapy.

Ocean Alley Doggy Day Out
Grab the lead, pack the poop bags, and head east—Ocean Alley in New Brighton is going to the dogs this Saturday (in the best possible way). There’ll be dog-friendly fun galore, plus loads of free activities to keep the kids happy while the fur babies socialise. It’s part of a brilliant school holiday lineup, so expect a buzz of seaside energy and maybe even a sandy pawprint or two on the car seat.

Empowering Zero Waste through Art – Envirokids & Without Waste
Who knew saving the planet could be this fun? Head to the Botanic Gardens for a morning of creativity with Envirokids, where tamariki will transform recycled materials into upcycled masterpieces. It’s hands-on, it’s eco-friendly, and it’s a great way to teach the kids about sustainability without a single lecture. Bonus: it’s totally free.

Add in a few tasty bites from local food vendors and you’ve got the perfect family stroll through the city.
