Free Car Seat Checks and Installations at Baby Bunting



Because installing a car seat without swearing or sweating is basically an Olympic sport. Good news: you don’t have to do it alone. Head to Baby Bunting for a free professional check or install, thanks to their team-up with Plunket. No bookings, no pressure—just roll up and make sure your small humans are strapped in safely.

Fans at Black Ferns vs Canada rugby match

Black Ferns v Canada – Pacific Four Series


Forget cartoon replays—this is live-action sport with proper stakes. The Black Ferns face off against world No.2 Canada, and it’s all going down right here in Christchurch. It’s an early arvo game too, so the kids won’t melt down from cold or missed dinners. Plus, they might even leave inspired. Or just really into face paint.

The Snow – Family Theatre Show


Stuck under a massive snowstorm? Build a catapult. Obviously. This whimsical tale of snowy chaos, village bravery and unlikely adventures hits all the right notes: silly, slightly spooky, and surprisingly sweet. Live music included. Ideal for ages 8+, but little ones from 4 have loved it too.

Hornby Club Open Day

Hornby Club Open Day


This is a proper local knees-up with bouncy castles, free candyfloss, and sausage sizzles for all. Kids can burn off energy while you sip a free coffee and check out what this club of 12,000 members is all about. With games, competitions and club tours, it’s a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

Kaiapoi Skate Jam


If your child’s a scooter enthusiast or thinks they’re the next Tony Hawk, this one’s for them. Free gear hire, roaming instructors from Cheapskates Skate Skool, and a DJ spinning tunes all day. Add in a sizzling sausage or two, plus sweet prizes, and you’ve got yourself a high-energy afternoon in Kaiapoi.
