CSO Music Trails

CSO Music Trails

Join the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra for a lively 45-minute performance at Te Hāpua: Halswell Centre. Designed for kids aged 2-6, this event is packed with music, dance, and storytelling. Featuring a string ensemble and special guests Loopy Tunes, it’s a perfect way for little ones to enjoy a morning of fun. The performance starts at 10:30am and it’s free to attend — no bookings required.

When: Friday, 23 August, 10.30 – 11.15am

Pooh Bear Live

Pooh Bear Live in Christchurch

Pooh Bear and his friends are heading to James Hay Theatre in Christchurch for a family-friendly adventure this Saturday. This live show, perfect for young children, brings the beloved characters from the Hundred Acre Wood to life with music, fun, and laughter.

When: Saturday, 24 August, 2.30-4pm
Where: James Hay Theatre, Christchurch Town Hall, 86 Kilmore Street, Christchurch

Flips & Tumbles Neon Lights Kids Night Out

Kids Night Out: Neon Lights

Book in for Neon Lights Kids Night Out and drop off your kids at 4pm for plenty of glow sticks, candy floss, lolly scrambles, and a photo booth while you take yourselves out for dinner. The night includes warm-up games, obstacle course races, free play, a pizza dinner with complimentary popcorn and juice, Nerf activities or a movie, and more free play before pick-up. The event is suitable for ages 5 and up; younger children may attend if they are toilet-trained and comfortable being left.

Paper Jam Pop up Workshop-Bring the kiddos Father’s Day Special

Celebrate Father’s Day with a creative twist at Paper Jam’s Pop-Up Workshop! Bring the kids along for a fun-filled session of crafting and creativity. This hands-on workshop is perfect for families looking to make something special together. Whether you’re crafting cards, decorations, or just having fun with paper, it’s a great way to spend quality time. Bring along photographs of Dad, Grandad, or another special man in your life to use to create a unique collage that makes a heartfelt gift. All other materials are provided.

Mural Painting Session at Petrie Park

What's on for kids this weekend: petrie park mural painting

Join the effort to transform Petrie Park with mural painting sessions! The southern section of the park, once a bowling ground closed after the earthquakes, is being revitalized with trees, walking paths, and seating areas. Local artist Bridget Allen has designed a mural featuring dogs from the park, interlaced with native flora and fauna. Participants are encouraged to wear painting clothes and help bring this vision to life. The sessions are open to all ages and families and will take place over the next few months.

When: Sunday, 25 August, 11-3pm
