Christchurch Night Market
The Friday night food crawl that actually works with kids in tow. More than 50 food vendors from around the world means even the pickiest eater will find something, and there’s plenty of activities to keep little ones entertained while you decide between dumplings or pizza. Free entry, which is always music to parents’ ears.

Messy Mates: Big Explorers
The only time you’ll willingly hand your child a tray of goo, rice, foam and glitter. These sessions are the messy play dream—loaded with sensory fun, and yes, absolutely requiring a change of clothes. Think of it as controlled chaos with an educational twist.

Grow Your Own Microgreens
Para Kore and Envirokids are serving up some green-fingered fun at the Botanic Gardens. The kids will learn why these tiny greens pack such a nutritional punch, get hands-on with planting, and take home their very own microgreens to nurture. Perfect for budding gardeners or anyone wanting to sneak more nutrition into family meals without the drama.

Winter Encraftment Market
Quality locally handmade treasures await at Pioneer Stadium. Browse the work of local artisans whilst the kids soak up the creative atmosphere. With food and refreshments on tap, it’s shopping without the usual kid-induced stress.

Food Truck Saturday
Eleven vendors rolling up to Leeston Primary means dinner is sorted without the kitchen carnage. From Wood Fired NZ Pizzas to Lil Orbs Donuts, there’s something to please every palate. The kids can run around whilst you sample your way through the lineup—it’s a win-win.

Phatsk8 Roller Disco
Grab the kids and some friends—it’s disco time! All ages and abilities welcome, with skates and safety gear provided (though helmets are a must for under-18s). Great music, games, prizes, and a limbo competition that’ll have everyone in stitches. It’s retro fun with a modern twist.
